Next year, Mira will be attending a new school. Part of it is that we are moving to our new house in September and her current school will be out of her catchment area. As well, we have chosen for Mira to enter into french immersion. In the Halton board, you can only enter into french immersion in either grade 1 or grade 7. This means that come September, this will be our only opportunity until grade 7 to get her into this program.
I did french immersion as a kid and the other side of her family spent a lot of time in Montreal growing up, so french is strong there as well. This means that Mira will have a lot of french support at home.
Mira has strong language and social skills so I'm hoping that she'll transition to this french immersion program with ease.
